December 23, 2008
- Jameson Health
System is proud to announce that the
Jameson
Care
Center
and the Jameson Transitional Care Unit have received an above
average, or four-star overall rating by the Medicare and Medicaid
Services (
CMS
).
On
December 18, 2008
the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (
CMS
) unveiled the “Five Star Quality Rating System” on Nursing
Home Compare. Nursing
homes received an overall rating based on facility performance on
three types of performance measures:
health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Nursing Home Compare displayed the star ratings for each of
the three performance measures alongside the overall rating.
Nursing homes with five stars are considered to have much
above average quality and nursing home with one star are
considered to have quality much below average.
CMS
plans to update these ratings monthly, even while acknowledging
that much of the underlying data does not change that frequently.
