Limits Patient Visitors Due to Flu Virus
Jameson Hospital
is requesting the public limit visitation to the hospital due to
the flu virus. The
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has identified wide-spread flu
activity in Pennsylvania.
Certain
circumstances may require visitation, and in such cases families
are asked to inform the nursing staff and efforts will be made to
accommodate them.
This limitation of
visitors extends to all areas of care including the emergency
department and surgical areas.
Jameson recognizes the involvement of family in patient
care and the concern of family members. However, it is important to balance the desire for family
involvement with the medical need for rest, energy conservation
and safety for patients. Jameson
has decided to encourage limited visitation for flu virus reasons,
high incidence of respiratory infections and to maintain a safe,
secure, comfortable environment conducive to healing.
Jameson Health System would like to thank you for your
cooperation.
To prevent the
spread of the flu, the CDC recommends covering your mouth and nose
when coughing or sneezing, wash your hands often, avoid touching
your eyes, nose or mouth, stay home when you are sick and check
with a health care provider when needed and practice good health
habits.
