Celebrates National Wear Red Day for Women
New Castle, PA – On February 14,
2005 Jameson Health System is going red to promote the American
Heart Association’s women and heart disease awareness campaign
“Go Red For Women.” The
main objective is to promote awareness of heart disease and
Prevention.
Jameson employees are encouraged to
wear red and donate $1.00 to the American Heart Association as
part of national Wear Red Day and Go Red for Women Campaign.

Heart Disease is the No.1 killer of women and the
No. 1 killer of Americans.
·
Heart Disease is the leading cause of birth defects.
·
1 in 29 women’s deaths are from breast cancer,
while 1 in 2.4 deaths are from CVD.
·
63% of women who died suddenly from coronary heart
disease had no previous symptoms of this disease.
·
Only about 38% of women report doctors have
discussed heart disease when analyzing their health.
