Limits Patient Visitors Due to Flu Virus
New Castle, PA (January 8, 2007) - Jameson
Hospital is requesting the public limit visitation to the hospital
due to the flu virus. The
Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has identified wide-spread flu
activity in Pennsylvania.
This limitation of visitors extends to all
areas of care including the emergency department and surgical
areas. Jameson
recognizes the involvement of family in patient care and the
concern of family members. However, it is important to balance the desire for family
involvement with the medical need for rest, energy conservation
and safety of patients. The
limited visitation will help to reduce the high incidence of
respiratory infections and maintain an environment more conducive
to healing.
Certain circumstances may require visitation,
and in such cases families are asked to inform the nursing staff
and efforts will be made to accommodate them.
Jameson Hospital appreciates the public’s
understanding and cooperation during this temporary period of
time.
