White, President/CEO Jameson Health System
Receives ACHE 2004 Regent’s Award
NEW CASTLE, PA
- On July 21, 2004, Thomas White, President/CEO Jameson Health
System, was awarded the 2004 Regent's Award from his professional
organization, The American College of Health Care Executives
(ACHE). Michelle
Robertson, Vice President of Strategic Planning / Managed Care at
Hamot Medical Center and the Regent for Western Pennsylvania,
presented to Mr. White the 2004 Regent’s Award for commendation
in the field of health care administration.
Mr. Jack Ferko, President / CEO of Kindred Hospital,
Oakdale, Pennsylvania and Chairman of the Regent's Award
Committee, read the letter submitted in its entirety.
A member of the Regent’s Award Committee, Mr. Sam Friede,
Director at the Health Policy Institute at the University of
Pittsburgh, offered remarks.
In
accepting the award, Mr. White commented, “I accept this award
on behalf of the Jameson Health System employees as well as
myself, because without their continuing support of the Jameson
Health System, I would not have received such an honor.”
Each
year the American College of Health Care Executives request
nominations for the Regent’s Award.
A letter of recommendation addressing specific criteria
includes how the candidate demonstrated leadership within his/her
organization resulting in enhanced performance; provide examples
of how the candidate had helped his/her organization grow and how
the candidate has helped others to reach their full potential
through mentorship; provide examples of community involvement and
achievement in professional development (health association
activities, civic/community activities, ACHE activities); and
provide examples as to what has the candidate done to inspire and
motivate others.
Mr.
White has been an active member of the ACHE since 1988.
