of Radiography Holds Graduation Ceremony

School
of
Radiography
and Specialty programs held their graduation ceremony at the
Jameson
South
Conference
Center
on
Friday,
May 30, 2008
at
7:00 p.m.
There were eleven
graduates, seven in Radiography, and two in Nuclear Medicine, one
in Ultrasound and one in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Four of the radiography graduates will further pursue
education in Jameson specialty programs, two in Nuclear Medicine,
one in Ultrasound, and one in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Robert J. D’Andrea who graduated from the Nuclear
Medicine specialty program will further pursue his education in
Jameson’s
CAT
Scan specialty program.
Radiography
graduates were: Anna
Marie Allison, Christie M. Gibbons, Matthew P. Kamensky, Jesse C.
Mahosky, Andrew Pisano, Trisha A. Riddle and Rachel A. Werther.
Specialty program graduates were
Robert J. D’Andrea and Valerie Lynn Hennon from Nuclear
Medicine; Jessica Lynn Welsh from Ultrasound and Shelley Renee
Wickline from Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Several students received awards for outstanding clinical
and classroom work. Matthew P. Kamensky received the Penn Imaging
Clinical Excellence Award for overall best clinical performance
and patient care. The
Elsevier Award for academic excellence was given to Christie M.
Gibbons. The Phoenix
Award, given to the graduating student who had to overcome the
most personal obstacles to complete their education, went to Anna Marie Allison and Andrew Pisano.
This was the first time that two students were awarded the
Phoenix Award.
Master of ceremonies
Bob Ondo, and Jane Beight, Administrative Director Medical
Imaging, and David W. Hyser, Director School of Radiography, spoke
during the ceremony. Mr.Thomas
White, Jameson Health System President/CEO, gave the keynote
address.
