NATIONAL HOSPITAL WEEK

Hospital Week,
May 10-16, 2009

The theme of this year’s national week of recognition is “A
Healthy Commitment in Changing Times” acknowledging that
hospitals, even in times of economic crisis and change, put
patients first.
“During
National Hospital Week, we celebrate our employees’ dedication
to our patients,” said Douglas Danko, President/CEO of Jameson
Health System. “It is our 1400 plus dedicated employees, across
all functional areas, who bring their diverse skills, compassion
and work ethic to the task of healing. They make us strong as an
organization. Together we are a health system in which healing
indeed happens every day.”
National
Hospital
Week dates back to 1921. Today, National Hospital Week is the
nation’s largest annual health care event.
Jameson honors its employees throughout the week.
Nurses
were first honored at special luncheons on May 6th at
the North and South Campuses. 8th.
The luncheons were held in recognition of National Nurses
Week, celebrated
annually from May 6 through
May 12
On
May 20th, Jameson
recognized employees celebrating five or more years of service
during its annual Employee Service Awards Dinner at the Villa.
This year’s dinner honored 204 employees for their years
of service. Jameson
held its first Employee Service Awards dinner in 1966.
The Anne and Warren Hoye Award is given to a Jameson Health System
employee who has designed a successful and innovative program to
benefit the community and the 2008 Dedicated
to Excellence Award is given to a deserving employee.
This year was a first in Jameson’s history of presenting
these awards to one individual for both awards.
Jamie McDonough, director of information management, was
given the Hoye Award for her excellent
job in instituting the new computer system in Information
Management. This will help the community by making their
records easily accessible on admission of their care. The
doctor will be able to easily see the patient's history. Jamie also was nominated by
her co-workers to receive the Dedicated to Excellence Award.
Jameson Health System offers its congratulations to all
Jameson employees for their continued commitment to the
Organization and the patients it serves.
