Carlson, M.D., FACOG as she joins the Obstetrics and Gynecology
staff of
Jameson
Memorial
Hospital
effective
June 1, 2008
.
A board-certified
obstetrician/gynecologist, Dr. Carlson offers complete pregnancy
care and gynecological services including minimally invasive
laparoscopic surgery, infertility evaluation, birth control
options, incontinence evaluation/treatment, menopause care and
major gynecological surgery.
A native of
New Castle
, Dr. Carlson is a
1994 graduate of the
University
of
Pittsburgh
with a
bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She received her doctor of
medicine degree in 1999 from the Pennsylvania State University
College of Medicine. Dr. Carlson completed both her internship and
residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the
National
Naval
Medical
Center
in
Bethesda
,
Md.
Dr. Carlson served most recently as the attending physician
for Butler Ob/Gyn Associates on the staff of
Butler
Memorial
Hospital
. She was
previously the department head and before that the attending
physician for the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Naval
Hospital Lemoore/Fleet Hospital in
Camp Pendleton
,
California
. Her academic
appointments include a teaching fellowship in Obstetrics and
Gynecology at
Uniformed
University
of the Health
Sciences in
Bethesda
,
Maryland
.
Dr. Carlson received the Department of Defense Military
Treatment Facility Customer Satisfaction Award for Obstetrical
Care in 2004 and 2005. She was awarded an Army Commendation Medal
in 2004 and a Meritorious Unit Commendation in 2002.
She is a Fellow of the
American
College
of Obstetricians
and Gynecologists (FACOG) and a member of the Pennsylvania Medical
Society.
In addition to joining the Jameson Memorial Hospital
Medical/Dental staff, Dr. Carlson has announced the opening of her
private practice in association with Kelly Palumbo, M.D. at
