Jameson School of Radiography Receives Eight-Year Accreditation

May 30, 2008 - The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) has awarded the Jameson School of Radiography an eight-year accreditation. This is the maximum accreditation period offered by JRCERT.

The JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for the accreditation of educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance and medical dosimetry. The JRCERT accreditation assures the public of quality professional education in the radiologic sciences.

Jameson Health System’s Radiography Program is a comprehensive 22 month course of study culminating in a Certificate in Radiologic Technology.  It provides the student with a high quality, customer service oriented competency based didactic and clinical education.  The education provided prepares the students to enter the job market at an entry-level position in diagnostic radiography, transfer to an advanced modality program or transfer to a selected 4 year institution offering a Bachelor’s Degree.  The program also instills life long learning values and assist students in achieving their professional and personal goals.

The Jameson Health System School of Radiography serves its communities of interest and its students through meeting and maintaining the following goals:

1.     Students will be clinically competent

2.     Students will communicate effectively

3.     Students will use critical thinking and problem solving skills

4.     Students will evaluate the importance of professional growth and development

5.     The program will graduate entry-level technologists

“This impressive eight-year accreditation reaffirms what our staff, current students and alumni have always known – that the quality of Jameson’s radiographic career instruction is second to none,” said Thomas White, president/CEO of Jameson Health System. “Receiving this official endorsement from JRCERT is a tremendous undertaking and a stellar achievement. It represents the commitment to quality that resonates from everything surrounding the Jameson School of Radiography.”
