Jameson School of Radiography Students Win First Prize

New Castle, PA - Jameson School of Radiography students competed in a Student Techni-Bowl and Jeopardy Game against other radiography students at LaRoche College in Pittsburgh on April 22, 2006.  Competing for the win were radiography students from nine other schools in western Pennsylvania and Ohio including Penn State and UPMC.  Jameson students won first prize in both events.  This is a tough competition testing the radiographic knowledge of students.

The main competition was the Techni-bowl where two second-year students, Mark Arnold and Jill Rapone, won first place.  The alternate student was Stacy Winters.

Students participating in the Jeopardy Game were second-year students, Stacy Winters, Lydia Kolehmainen, Paul Saveat and first-year students, Julie Cataldi, Sara Stockovich and Heather Thompson also taking the first place win.

Accompanying the students was David Hyser, Program Director, and Sally Mitchell, Program Clinical Coordinator and Melissa Conley, Program Instructor.  Attending the competition to support their fellow students were second year students, Krystal Elford, Cecilia Garcia, Justin Foster and Ashley Work and first year students, Heather Gorman, Val Hennon, Gwen Reno, Marlena Sperdute and Shelley Wickline.

The students who won first prize in both competitions designed their own team shirts to wear to the competition and special ones for faculty members.   Prizes were monetary gifts to each student competing in the Techni-Bowl and the school, a Pizza Hut Certificate and an inscribed plaque.
