Jameson
School of Radiography Students Win First Prize
New Castle, PA -
Jameson School of Radiography students competed in a Student
Techni-Bowl and Jeopardy Game against other radiography students
at LaRoche College in Pittsburgh on April 22, 2006.
Competing for the win were radiography students from nine
other schools in western Pennsylvania and Ohio including Penn
State and UPMC. Jameson
students won first prize in both events.
This is a tough competition testing the radiographic
knowledge of students.
The main
competition was the Techni-bowl where two second-year students,
Mark Arnold and Jill Rapone, won first place.
The alternate student was Stacy Winters.
Students
participating in the Jeopardy Game were second-year students,
Stacy Winters, Lydia Kolehmainen, Paul Saveat and first-year
students, Julie Cataldi, Sara Stockovich and Heather Thompson also
taking the first place win.
Accompanying the
students was David Hyser, Program Director, and Sally Mitchell,
Program Clinical Coordinator and Melissa Conley, Program
Instructor. Attending
the competition to support their fellow students were second year
students, Krystal Elford, Cecilia Garcia, Justin Foster and Ashley
Work and first year students, Heather Gorman, Val Hennon, Gwen
Reno, Marlena Sperdute and Shelley Wickline.
The students who
won first prize in both competitions designed their own team
shirts to wear to the competition and special ones for faculty
members. Prizes were monetary gifts to each student competing in
the Techni-Bowl and the school, a Pizza Hut Certificate and an
inscribed plaque.
