JAMESON CELEBRATES NATIONAL HOSPITAL WEEK
RECOGNIZING EMPLOYEES
New Castle, PA – Jameson Health
System is celebrating National Hospital Week, May 7-13, 2006,
“Where Miracles Happen Every Day.”
The medical profession is making miraculous strides in so
many areas,” said Thomas White, President/CEO, Jameson Health
System. “We’re able to offer many patients new hope that
eluded us even a few years ago.
From the maternity unit to the recovery room, this is a
place of new beginnings and we are all fortunate to be part of
it.” National
Hospital Week dates back to 1921 and today National Hospital Week
is the nation’s largest annual health care event.
Jameson
held its first Employee Service Awards dinner in 1966.
On April 27, 2006, they once again recognized employees
celebrating five or more years of service.
This year’s dinner honored 140 employees who gave Jameson
1,960 total years of service.
Cherie Shoup was named Employee of the Year at the annual
dinner. Cherie, a
supervisor in the Engineering Department, has been with Jameson
for 34 years. She is a pleasant and professional person who goes above and
beyond her job expectations to get things done efficiently.
She has a positive disposition and is a pleasure to work
with.
Deborah Thompson, RN, BSN, CNOR, was awarded
the 2006 Hoye Award at the dinner.
Debbie developed a new Outpatient Medication Administration
Clinic in the ambulatory care area at the North Campus.
Debbie, manager of Same Day Surgery, PACU and Ambulatory
Care (diabetes, endocrinology and pain management), has been with
Jameson for 23 years. The Anne K. and Warren J. Hoye Award is given to a Jameson
Health System employee who has designed a successful and
innovative program to benefit the community.
