JAMESON HEALTH SYSTEM HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING

 

New Castle , PA October 16, 2008 – Jameson Health System held its Annual Membership meeting on September 17, 2008 in the May Emma Hoyt Nurses Residence Auditorium. 

Elected to the Membership were nine individuals:  William Anderson, president, Anderson Brothers Tool Company, Inc.; Dr. Richard Dorman, president of Westminster College; James Haas, staff economic executive, First Energy Corporation; Susan Hannon, co-owner & vice president, D.J. Hannon and Sons, Inc.; William Lutz, CEO, New Castle Community YMCA; Frank Moses, vice president, New Era Realty Company; Michael Wish, CEO, Wish Development; Margery Weyrick, president, Jameson Junior Guild; and Douglas Danko, COO , Jameson Health System.

During the Jameson Health System Board reorganization meeting immediately following the annual meeting, the following Health System officers were elected and new board appointments were made from the Membership: Lee Silverman, chairman; Steven Warner, vice-chairman; Ben Huffman, treasurer and Ken Romig, secretary.

Jameson Hospital Board – Attorney Phillip Clark, Jr., Dr. Paul Wawrzynski and Margery Weyrick

Jameson Health Care Foundation Board – Attorney Michael Bonner and James Myers, owner of Jim’s Self Storage

J-Health Ventures, Inc. Board – Attorney Michael Bonner

During the meeting, Mr. Chris Mitsos was recognized for his eighteen years of distinguished leadership while holding the office of Chairman of the Health System since 1990.  Mr. White remarked, “Chris allowed the organization to set a strategy for expansion and growth and the past 18 years have been exciting and progressive under the leadership of Chris.” 

Mr. Thomas White, President/CEO, retiring at the end of the year, was recognized.  Mr. Mitsos commented, “In Tom’s tenure as CEO and president over 36 years, he has transformed the hospital from a small single building community hospital employing 500 persons and offering minimal clinical programs and services to a sophisticated five building complex employing 1,500 persons and offering sophisticated clinical programs.” 

All members are area residents with community ties and service and will bring continuity to the mission of providing quality health care in our community.
